A day at Abbey Road

Earlier this year we ran a competition in conjunction with Now Play It, offering Take it away customers the opportunity to spend a day at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, to record their material.

The lucky winner was 13 year old pianist Charlotte Reardon, who got the opportunity not only to record at the world famous studios, but also to use the very studio The Beatles played in over forty years ago.

After receiving a tour of the studios, Charlotte recorded a piano piece with an Abbey Road sound engineer, and was also given a drum lesson from teacher and musician Christian Storer. Having started to learn the drums already, Charlotte was delighted to receive a lesson from Christian, who taught her the part to Australian band Operator Please's track 'Other Song'. After her day at the studio, a very happy Charlotte said:

"Abbey Road absolutely amazed me and throughout the whole day I couldn't stop smiling. The drum lesson was incredible and all the people were so brilliant that not once did I feel as nervous as I thought I would be. One of the best days of my life."
