| Arts audiences: insight | |
Arts Council England works to enable everyone to experience arts that enrich their lives. To help achieve this we work in partnership with artists, arts organisations local authorities and others to find new ways to excite, engage and inspire people. To inform this work, we have developed a new arts-based segmentation of English adults comprising 13 distinct groups. The segmentation provides new insight into how and why different kinds of people engage with the arts in England today. It can also be used as a source of insight and ideas for building new audiences for the arts. Download: Arts audiences: insight, PDF format [6MB] | |

| Including the arts in extended services | |
| This resource is designed to support the development of arts opportunities for children and young people in extended services. It is based on learning from the Arts Council's Arts Extend programme and includes case studies of each of the pilot projects. Arts Extend was a national pilot funded by Arts Council England in 2007 that took place in nine local authorities and involved over 60 schools. Development partners were ContinYou, Department for Children, Schools and Families, Teacher Development Agency and 4Children. The nine programmes adopted different models of provision, including after-school clubs, weekend and holiday activities, and a two-day arts residential. All the activities were led by artists and some took place in museums, galleries and arts centres. | |
